TRS to train active party members

After the successful completion of the party membership drive, the TRS is all set to focus on further consolidating its position in rural areas of the State. Besides completing the buildings for the party’s district offices, the party leadership will be conducting training programmes for its active members as per the instructions of Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao.
TRS working president KT Rama Rao reviewed the completion of membership drive with party general secretaries at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday. During the marathon meeting that lasted for about five hours, he directed the leaders to focus on the appointment of party committees from the booth level to the district level as well as on conducting training programmes. He also wanted them to complete the party’s district offices buildings before Dasara.
The party general secretaries were asked to complete the compilation of party membership details by August-end and submit the reports to Chandrashekhar Rao. Simultaneously, the appointment of the party committees at all levels will be completed to ensure that the Assembly segment-wise meetings of active members can be held from the first week of September to prepare the local cadres for the municipal elections. The party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other leaders will also be invited to attend these meetings.
“About 60 lakh people enrolled themselves as TRS members of which about 20 lakh are active members. We received about Rs 22 crore in the membership fee. We will be submitting a detailed report to the party president in this regard before August 31,” TRS general secretary Palla Rajeshwar Reddy told media.
Rama Rao also appointed a committee, comprising MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar, MLC Seri Subhash Reddy, Government Whip Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, TRS general secretary Sravan Kumar Reddy, to oversee and coordinate the construction of party offices in 31 districts. The panel was also instructed to update the party leadership from time to time and expedite construction of these buildings to ensure their inauguration by Dasara.
