Govt to rope in private players for World Skill Centres in 3rd phase

Notably, in a meeting which was held in March this year, it was informed by the Department Representative from Training and Technical Education that there was a proposal for 25 World Class Skill Centers, out of which 06 centers have been inaugurated. “Balance 20 World Class Skill Centers were to be started from August , 2019, Besides, the department was making policy for private sector which they had submitted to the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. In third phase , private sector World Class Skill Centers would be started,” the report quoted.
Interestingly, there was a proposal to open three ITIs, as per the committee report, two ITIs had been converted in to World Class Skill Centers and construction work also completed and by August 2019, they would run as technical centers.
Out of three it is, the one ITI was in Chhatarpur and was associated with Health Department and a hospital was being constructed. “There was a land dispute, perhaps , the land was under Ridge area. The project could not move forward,” quoted as said in the report. Significantly, to educate youth keeping empowerment in view, induction of five polytechnics also mentioned in proposal.
Remarkably, as far concern to placement to youth trained in World Class Skill Centers (WCSC), the Government claimed their placements in Radisson Hotel, Oberoi, Le Meridian, Jaypee for hospitality operations whereas few are also placed with retail chains —Reliance, Tata, Costa , Shoppers Stop.
