Centre signs MoU to use Bangla port for Tripura

The Centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh for transporting 20 LPG bullet trucks through the Mongla port in Bangladesh to cater to the growing petroleum demand in Tripura. Food and civil supplies minister Manoj Kanti Deb said the transportation will began within five months and accordingly, the bottling plants of Tripura can bottle up 75 truck-containers within two months and production of gas cylinders would reach to 6.9 lakh per month here.

The state government has been also working for increasing the volume of petrol and diesel storage capacity from 400 kilolitres to 2050 kilolitres at Dharmanagar. Apart from this, more 150 petrol pumps and 10 LPG outlets would be set up in different sub-divisions of Tripura.
