Political leaders express grief over Arun Jaitley’s death

Former Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel expressed shock over the death of former Union minister Arun Jaitley, who was a friend to him for the past 46 years. “I first met him at Shri Ram College of Commerce in 1971 and Jaitley ji was senior to me in the college,” Goel said. He was a president of the Delhi University Student Union. Jaitley ji used to guide us regularly for the development of Delhi, Goel said.
His death was not only a loss for the nation, but also a personal loss to me. It would be difficult to fill the void created by his sudden departure, said Goel. Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said he was shocked by the news. The country had lost a great economist, advocate and an articulate speaker. Jaitley ji had a great affection for the people of Delhi and was a guiding force for the party. May God give peace to his soul and strength to his loved ones. The country would never forget his immense contribution, Tiwari said.
BJP MLA Vijender Gupta said Jaitley was his guide and mentor. He represented the voice of people when in opposition and addressed to people’s interests when in power. He had dedicated his entire life to the people of the nation.
