Tripura government to give scholarship to UPSC aspirants

The state government decided to give scholarship for those aspirants who are preparing for UPSC examination.
On Thursday the State Cabinet has approved a scheme ‘Lakshya’, a scholarship programme.
State education minister Ratan Lal Nath briefed about the programme.
He said, through this scheme, state higher education department will support the UPSC aspirants.
The minister said the UPSC aspirants who are preparing to crack the examination and who are taking coaching for IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS examination outside the State will be given a scholarship of Rs one lakh after completing their preliminary stage.
The minister also said that in the next level, after successful completing of the main examination, the aspirants will receive Rs 20,000 from the state government.
This amount will give for their stay outside the State, Ratan Lal Nath added.
He informed that those aspirants, who are belonging to the families having an annual income less than Rs 10 lakh, can get this ‘Lakshya’ scholarship.
The candidates will get this facility two times, he added.
Ratan Lal Nath said, education is the main priority of the State Government and the government wants that a good number of students will come in the field of administration at the national level. The number of cadre from the State in different cadre services is very poor.
