Opposition should desist itself from mudslinging: Gutha Sukender Reddy

TRS MLC Gutha Sukender Reddy on Thursday took exception to the comments made by Congress leaders against the State government by saying that the opposition party would do well to desist from indulging in mudslinging against the State government for their political interests.
Speaking at a media conference at his camp office in Nalgonda, Sukender Reddy said the Congress had all but lost its existence in the State since the people had rejected the party for its anti-development attitude. “Congress leaders even tried to create hurdles in the implementation of welfare schemes and irrigation projects,” he said.
Strongly objecting to the comments made by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy at a meeting in Devarakonda against the State government, he said there was no truth in the allegation made by the TPCC president on Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) works. It was the Congress leaders who swindled funds in the name of mobilization of advance in the contract of SLBC project. The Congress leaders have no moral right to criticize the TRS government in the matters of SLBC, he added.
The TRS leader pointed out that after TRS came to power, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao sanctioned the required funds for completion of the remaining works of SLBC and expedited the project works. He said it had become a practice for Congress leaders to blurt out baseless allegations. “It is unfortunate that senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy is also indulging in levelling baseless allegations against the State government and degrading himself,” he added.
Describing Chandrasekhar Rao as farmers’ Chief Minister, he said he was was striving hard to complete all the irrigation projects taken up by his government in addition to completing pending projects.
He said that the state government has taken a decision to fill all village tanks with the waters of Nagarjuna Sagar Project through SLBC and low level. Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, Nalgonda MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy and TRS leaders were also present.
