AAP holds protests outside CM’s official residence

As the water crisis in Tiswadi and Ponda entered the seventh day on Wednesday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, held a Gandhigiri protest outside Chief Minister’s official residence by carrying empty cans and buckets. The silent protesters attempted to fill water through the available stock in the premise but were stopped by the policemen from entering the gate. “In Panjim, many people have moved out until the crisis is resolved. The government should have clearly informed the people about the correct timeline required to repair the broken pipeline. Why have they kept us in dark? It would have allowed the general public to chalk out their plans properly,” said AAP leader Valmiki Naik, while speaking to reporters outside the CM’s residence at Altinho.

Fearing that Panjim would sink under the present government, he sought that people should now elect trustworthy and reliable candidates in the upcoming elections in the State. Reacting to the party’s delayed approach towards the issue, Naik justified that they are certain entire Panjim will get proper water supply only by Friday. “The government has assured to supply water (in Tiswadi) today (Wednesday) but till now (Wednesday evening), the taps are dry. I am sure tomorrow only few places will get the water supply and only by Friday, the water supply will be restored,” he added.
