Surrendered militants slam Biplab Deb govt

The Tripura United Indigenous Peoples Council (TUIPC) has slammed the state government for withdrawing the security of the surrendered militants without having any discussion with them.
TUIPC is an umbrella organization of the surrendered militants groups of Tripura.
TUIPC chief Anant Debbarma alleged that the state government had withdrawn their security without any discussion with them.
Debbarma said they had given several letters to the chief minister on that issue, but he did not respond to the letters.
The BJP-led government had recently withdrawn security of all the surrendered militants including Bijay Hrangkhel, Lalit Debbarma, Dhananjay Debbarma, and Ananta Debbarma.
The TUIPC has already written to the President, Prime Minister, chief minister, deputy chief minister and the state DGP in this connection.
Debbarma said during their surrender lots of the promises were made by the government to various militant groups but those are not fulfilled yet. He said they will organize a mass demonstration after 20 August seeking restoration of their security. The opposition CPI (M) had earlier alleged that the police department has abruptly reduced the number of personal security provided to the Left party leaders.
