Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa stumble upon a rare demand from one of the flood victims, taken to a relief camp in Sankeshwara town in Belagavi district after his home was marooned due to unprecedented floods in Krishna River that ravaged the lives of the people in this part of Karnataka, but he appealed him to arrange for text books supplied free in government schools which was delayed, so that he could prepare for the mid term class test, coming soon.
The incident occurred, when Yediyurappa, paid a visit to Rama Cinema hall, where the displaced people of the people from the town thrown out of their homes due to swollen Hiranyakeshi river, had been lodged, and inquired about their well being at the relief camp.
Seema Ingali, a student preparing for prelimenary exams for Chartered Accountant Course, brought to the notice of the CM that she had lost her accounts text books, that costed high, which were damaged due to flood waters, and appealed him to arrange for new text books, and facilitate her to prepare for Exam.
Responding immediately, Chief minister instructed the Deputy Commissioner, Bommanahalli to procure the text books needed by the student as early as possible.
Chief Minister, who had also interacted with the flood victims inquired about the arrangements made by the district administration for their hassle-free stay and assured to provide all kind of support to them.
Union minister of state for Railways, Suresh Angadi, senior BJP MLA, Ramesh Katti and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
