Cabinet formation in Karnataka held up

Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yediyurappa and a delegation of state legislators from the party will return empty-handed from Delhi today, after the top leadership put off the formation of the Cabinet to a later date, two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators aware of the developments said.
The delay is likely to compound the problems for the government in which Yediyurappa is currently the only Cabinet member in a state, where life has been thrown out of gear in several places due to the incessant rain causing floods and landslides.
“It might take another two to three days," according to one of the two senior BJP legislators cited above said. The names were yet to be discussed, the person added.
Yediyurappa and at least three senior leaders from his party have been camping in Delhi since 5 August hoping to get an audience with national president Amit Shah.
Yediyurappa and his delegation, including Jagadish Shettar, Basavaraj Bommai and Govind.M.Karjol, among others, have since met several national leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman, defence Minister Rajnath Singh and transport minister Nitin Gadkari.
