Opposition in Meghalaya Raises Doubt On Financial Condition
The Congress-led Opposition in Meghalaya has doubted the government claims that the fiscal situation of the State is stable. A day after the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the financial situation of the State is not as perceived by citing about the expected Central flow of funds, Congress leader Zenith Sangma said, “The present government should know the financial position but it is nothing as been claimed. We are aware that huge dues meant to many stakeholders have been turned down by the banks. I am afraid to say that their (government) tall claims is not visible on the ground.”
The Opposition, since the last Assembly session, has been criticising the MDA government on alleged financial mismanagement. And the latest claim of the Chief Minister is expected to draw more satirical views in the days to come from the Opposition.
