Odisha generates more waste, says Union Minister Change Babul Supriyo

Even as Odisha figures in top-14 states that generate more solid waste, processing of waste is very less compared to the national average. The state, in fact, figures among bottom two states in terms of waste processing rate.

As per information laid before Parliament by Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Babul Supriyo, Odisha generated 9,92,800 tonne waste per annum until November 2018 and processed only 12 per cent of the waste against the national average of 46.03 per cent.
