Do an agitation where police kills 20 people: TMC Minister Subrata Mukherjee mocks BJP
"Stop doing small agitations and try to do something big, where police is forced to open fire killing 20 people". This bizarre suggestion for Bengal BJP has come from state minister and senior TMC leader Subrata Mukherjee.
Subrata Mukherjee who is known for his sense of humour on Thursday made this statement mocking BJP. The saffron party has upped the ante after its record performance in the Lok Sabha election where it managed to win 18 out of 42 seats, up from 2 in 2014. Mukherjee too lost Lok Sabha elections from Bankura to BJP candidate. Perhaps still smarting from that loss, Mukherjee tried to mock the sustained campaigns undertaken by BJP, particularly in the cut money issue.
Mukherjee said, "Small protests can only get you so far. Try something big, In small agitations, police will stop you, there will be chaos, some pictures will be taken and that's that. But what is the end result to it? Do something, where police is forced to fire and 20 people die."
