T.N. Assembly session set to commence on June 28

The next session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly is set to commence on June 28. The Opposition is likely to raise the issue of prevailing water scarcity in the State and the DMK may move a motion of no-confidence against Speaker P Dhanapal, for which it had given notice.
According to a notification from the Assembly Secretariat, the Governor has summoned the House to meet at 10 a.m. on June 28.
Informed sources said the Assembly Business Advisory Committee (BAC) is expected to meet early next week to decide on the business for the first day. The session is likely to go on for a month. The Cabinet is also likely to meet on June 24.
Failure of water release from the Cauvery, opposition to NEET for medical admission, AIADMK’s stand on the three-language policy and the draft National Educational Policy of the Centre are likely to be the other issues which the opposition parties could seek to take up.
