Put govt. schemes in public domain: HC

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed the State government to make available in the public domain information on various schemes such as the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Scheme so that the needy can tap into them for meeting their medical expenses.
Justice Devan Ramachandran passed the directive while dealing with a petition filed by the father of two girls against the proceedings by the Malappuram District Cooperative Bank to recover a loan taken by him for the treatment of his children.
‘Many schemes’
When the petition came up for hearing, State Attorney A.V. Sohan submitted that the petitioner could seek the benefits under the Chief Minster’s Distress Relief Scheme, Social Security Pension Scheme and also approach the Kerala State Minorities Development Finance Corporation for meeting the expense.
