Will remain in TDP, says Prabhakar Reddy

Former MLA from Tadipatri J.C. Prabhakar Reddy on Wednesday made it clear that he would remain in the TDP and denied reports that the BJP was in touch with him.
Mr. Prabhakar Reddy and his elder brother and former MP Diwakar Reddy had announced retirement from active politics prior to the general elections and fielded their sons Asmith Reddy and Pavan Reddy from the Tadipatri Assembly and Anantapur Parliamentary constituencies. They, however, lost the elections.
“I will not jump into any political party. I will remain in the TDP,” Mr. Prabhakar Reddy said. Referring to the rumors that the saffron party was in touch with his brother too, he said, “My brother had announced retirement from politics. He does not want to return to active politics.”
“I will be in active politics as it is my responsibility to protect the interests of my party workers, who have helped us remain in power for the past 40 years,” he said. Mr. Prabhakar Reddy, who met SP B. Satya Yesubabu, lauded the police for containing violence in the district. Referring to the incidents of violence against the TDP workers, he said they were insignificant compared to the past.
