Family of five attempts suicide near CM’s Camp Office

Peeved over unredressed grievance pertaining to their land compensation, a family of five, including three children, from Ibrahimpatnam attempted to immolate themselves in front of Chief Minister’s Camp Office at Begumpet on Monday. However, the police foiled their bid. The incident took place at around 10 a.m. and the victims were identified as Ailesh, 35, his wife Anuradha, 30, and their eight, six and four-year-old children from Nadergul in Ibrahimpatnam.

“The couple attempted to kill their children and commit suicide by dousing themselves in kerosene, which they had carried from home,” the police said. The couple told the police that in 2010, the State government had acquired their land, but the compensation was handed over to another person, who was no way connected to the issue.
