Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the government machinery will be modernised as part of efforts to democratise the civil service. Delivering the inaugural address at a public meeting to mark the conclusion of the 56th State conference of the Kerala NGO Union here on Tuesday, he said the officials in the civil service had joined hands with the government to improve the quality of citizen service and fulfil the commitments made to the people of the State.
Mr. Vijayan exhorted employees to be vigilant in solving the problems of the common man and curbing corruption. He assured them that the government would take steps to modernise the civil service with the help of technological tools.
Mr. Vijayan called upon employees to be vigilant against the move by the BJP government at the Centre to promote corporates and undermine the civil service and public sector enterprises.
