Health Minister launches free treatment facility for Haemophilia and Thalassaemia

Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh, launched a free treatment facility for Haemophilia and Thalassaemia at the conference hall of JNIMS Blood Bank, today, under the aegis of State Health Society, National Health Mission (NHM), Manipur.

Speaking at the event, Jayantakumar said that as a gift to the people, people will now be able to get free treatment and medicine for Haemophilia and Thalassaemia at RIMS and JNIMS from today.

He explained that Prophylactic therapy for Haemophilia as well as all the required medication will be free. The Minister continued that Thalassaemia is mainly present in children and its treatment and medication will be free of cost from now as well.

He then explained that Manipur will either become the first or the second in the North East to have a National Commission on Disease Control (NCDC) as land has already been demarcated and the necessary foundations have been laid as well, with the only remaining thing being the construction works.
