Polls not just to choose a PM: Kamal Haasan

Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan said here on Friday that the Lok Sabha election was not merely to choose the Prime Minister, “but to decide our future and what is best for the country”.
Seeking support for his party candidate A. Saravanakumar, he said Members of Parliament would choose the Prime Minister after the election, and deciding it now was not political dignity. He said that great leaders such as K. Kamaraj and M.G. Ramachandran had studied the people. “Following them, I am here”. Mr. Haasan asked the youth to vote without fail, adding that the State was on the edge of a revolution. He expressed confidence that youngsters from both the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam would join his party. “Youngsters come to us as we are honest”, he said. Mr. Haasan asked the youngsters not vote under NOTA, and act according to their conscience.
