Ayodhya Dispute: Modi govt demands to return 66-acre land to original owners

A day after the hearing in Ayodhya Land dispute case was deferred further as one of the judges from the 5-Judge bench was on leave; the government has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court and have sought claim of the undisputed land in Ayodhya.

The government has sought claim of 66-acre land, which excludes the disputed 0.3-acre land. As only 0.3-acre land is disputed land, where the Babri Masjid was constructed. The government has sought permission of construction on the remaining 2.77-acre land.
