When stones were pelted at a school bus in Gurgaon by right-wing extremists and public property was vandalized, no netas, government or police condemned it. Indeed, no strict actions were taken against them. But radical thinkers and activists such as Varavar Rao, Anand Teltumbde, Sudha Bharadwaj, Arun Ferreira, Vernon Gonsalves, Gautam Navlakha and Stan Swamy were arrested yesterday over suspicion of having links with Naxals. What is this government afraid of? Free speech?
