Toguta labourers gear up for ‘battle’ for R&R package
By The Hindu 11-Jan-2019
Their contention was that they were not being offered any compensation under the R&R package which was mandatory as per the LA Act-2013. On Tuesday, they stalled heavy machinery from working near the fields. They urged the authorities to take action against those violating orders issued by the High Court.
In a memorandum submitted to authorities on Tuesday, the farm labourers said the court has directed the government not to commence works till R&R benefits were extended to them.
