Hadiya's father joins BJP, vows support to party’s Sabarimala stir

Months after the Supreme Court restored the controversial marriage of Hadiya, formerly a Hindu, with Shafin Jahan, the father of the 26-year-old Kerala woman has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. KM Ashokan, who joined the BJP on Sunday, had approached the court, alleging his daughter was a victim of 'love jihad'.
After joining the BJP, KM Ashokan has extended support to the party’s ongoing stir against the Supreme Court's verdict on Sabarimala temple. While addressing the media, Ashokan said the BJP was the only political party which protected the belief of Hindus.
