Nitish govt. finds itself in a spot

In the face-off between the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government and the Opposition RJD, the ruling alliance has had to face a few embarrassing moments in the recent past, giving a political edge to the RJD ahead of the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

In the ongoing war of attrition, the Nitish Kumar government had to face its first major embarrassment recently when it had to remove a high-resolution CCTV camera installed on the boundary wall of the Chief Minister’s residence at 1, Anne Marg, after fierce protest from RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav whose official bungalow 5, Deshratna Marg is located next to the CM’s bungalow.

Tejaswi Yadav, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, had alleged that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had installed the camera to “snoop” on activities at his residence.
