Calcutta High Court denies permission to Amit Shah’s ‘Rath Yatra’

The Calcutta High Court on Thursday rejected the BJP’s petition to allow them to hold ‘Rath Yatras’ in West Bengal, which was scheduled to be inaugurated by party’s national president Amit Shah from Cooch Behar tomorrow.
The single bench of Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty observed that reports need to be called from all Superintendents of Police in the state as the proposed Ratha Yatras will touch upon all 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal and deferred the yatras till January 9 when the court will hear the matter again.
