Gov calls for creating an inclusive society

On the occasion of the World Disability Day, the governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya, has called upon all to strive and work together towards creating a society, which is inclusive and equitable, where the rights and dignity of all people were recognized and fully realized. Addressing the World Disability Day programme at Highland Park, here on Monday, Acharya said the needs of Divyangs (Persons with Disabilities) should be given priority and addressed adequately by fostering collaborative action in key areas like healthcare, education, social services and employment, creating favourable conditions of work and opportunities both in public and private sector.

World Disabled Day programme jointly organized by Nagaland Parents Association for Disabled in collaboration with Social Welfare Department and the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority was held on the theme “empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality”.
