In a move to seek their direct feedback, Congress is seeking people’s ideas and suggestions to be incorporated in the party’s manifesto for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to make it an inclusive affair.
The Manifesto Committee of the Congress Party will be visiting Lok Sabha constituencies across the country and hold direct consultations with people on their issues and problems. The Manifesto Committee will be in Nagpur on Monday and Tuesday and interact with people at a programme organised at Sadar-based Heritage Lawn. All ideas and suggestions provided by the people will be presented to party President Rahul Gandhi through Suggestions Committee.
In the Monday meeting, the Manifesto Committee has invited representatives of 12 NGOs working in different fields for interaction. According to the Convener of the Committee and former IAS officer Kishore Gajbhiye, the Congress manifesto for 2019 Lok Sabha poll will be of people’s manifesto. The final draft of the manifesto will be prepared after incorporating all ideas and suggestions received from people across the country.
