BJP’s delayed list irks long-time party men

Upset over the central leadership continuing to delay announcing official candidates in several constituencies, Bharatiya Janata Party Vikarabad district president Karanam Prahalada Rao has tendered his resignation from his post on Friday.
In his resignation sent to party State unit president K. Laxman, he also announced the withdrawal of his candidature from the Parigi Assembly constituency. Mr. Rao said he was disappointed and felt let down by the party leadership as his name did not figure in any of the three lists released by the central election committee secretary and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda.
This was causing much distress and dismay among the party cadre and hence he was resigning, he said and noted that although he strived his best to strengthen the BJP in the last 40 years his services has gone unrecognized. Incidentally, he is not the first person to express his anger at the unusual delay in the release of names of official candidates by the party leadership even as the deadline for filing the nominations is fast approaching.
