Veteran TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao announced that he was not quitting politics and would contest in the 2019 elections on a Telugu Desam Party ticket .He also confirmed that his son, Rayapati Ranga Rao would be entering politics.
Speaking to the media at his residence in Guntur on Thursday, he said that the Telugu Desam Party would win more than 120 seats and that the AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was doing a lot for the development of the state and thanked him for sanctioning Rs. 600 crore for the Palnadu Water Grid which was helping solve drinking water problem in the Vinukonda, Gurazala, Macherla Assembly constituencies .
