The State government’s ambitious plan to develop the Brindavan Gardens, on the downstream of Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS), on the lines of Disneyland in the U.S. moved forward on Thursday with the Mandya district administration commencing the process of identifying government land for the project.
The development of Brindavan Gardens was announced during the previous Congress regime at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the formation of Mandya district in February 2015. Now, it is the coalition government that has commenced the process.
A high-level meeting was convened here on Thursday to discuss identification of land for the project. The meeting was chaired by N. Manjushri, Deputy Commissioner of Mandya. Officials from the Department of Tourism, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd. (CNNL), Revenue and other departments/agencies concerned attended the meeting.
