Naidu, TDP working against interests of Telangana: TRS

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader T. Harish Rao has said that Telangana people have strong objection to Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which is in power in Andhra Pradesh, entering the electoral fray in the State as it (TDP) is working against the interests of Telangana.

In an open letter addressed to AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is also the president of TDP, Mr. Harish Rao said although every political party had right to contest elections anywhere in the country, the intentions of TDP for Telangana were harmful as is evident from the fact that Mr. Naidu in his capacity as Chief Minister of AP had written several letters to Union Water Resources Ministry and the Krishna, Godavari river boards against several irrigation projects in Telangana.

“Any political party contests elections with a development and welfare agenda, but the TDP’s intentions are against the interests of the Telangana and the party wants to have say in working against State’s interests by winning a few seats in alliance with Congress and a few other parties”, Mr. Harish Rao, who is also the caretaker Minister for Irrigation, explained.
