SC allows repair of legal buildings in Sabarimala

The Supreme Court Friday allowed the Kerala government to undertake repair of the legally constructed buildings in Sabrimala which were damaged in the recent floods.
A bench of justices Madan B Lokur, A M Khanwilkar and R Subhash Reddy, however, clarified that “it goes without saying” that illegal structures would have to be removed. It said the construction in the fragile areas leading to the shrine must only be in accordance with a master plan drawn up by the state government in 2007.
