Bhima-Koregaon violence: CM, others ‘have no concern’ Government tells Commission

Saying that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state home minister Dipak Kesarkar, Pune Commissioner Rashmi Shukla, State Director General of Police – Datta Padsalgikar and several other authorities have ‘no concern’ with the Bhima-Koregaon riots, the Maharashtra government on Wednesday told the two-member commission.
The government filed its reply in response to an application filed by one Ramesh Gaychor, urging the commission to first examine CM Fadnavis, Kesarkar, state urban minister Vithhal Patil, former chief secretary Sumit Mullick, DGP Padsalgikar, Pune top cop Rashmi Shukla and several others.
The commission comprising of Chief Justice (retd.) Jaynarayan Patel and Sumit Mullick, is presently examining witnesses to ascertain the cause of the riots that broke out in Pune and then across Maharashtra. The commission will also fix the responsibility of the state government and its machinery for the incident and also suggest short term and long term measures for avoiding such incidents in the future.
