No charge made out against me: CM
Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday contended that no charge had been made out against him by the Madras High Court while ordering a CBI probe into allegations of nepotism and corruption in the award of contracts by the Highways Department, a portfolio held by him.
Addressing mediapersons at the Tiruchi airport, Mr. Palaniswami said that since he was holding a high-ranking position, the court had ordered the transfer of the case to the CBI to ensure a free and fair trial. But no charge of any irregularity (in the award of the contracts) had been made out. Hence, he had preferred an appeal against the order.
