Telangana Leader Padmini Reddy Leaves Cong For BJP in Morning, Returns to Party in Evening

Former deputy chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh Damodar Rajanarasimha’s wife, Padmini Reddy, a Congress leader joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at around noon on Thursday only to return to Congress the same day at 9 PM.
Reddy said, ‘I’ve understood feelings of Congress workers and taken my decision back.’ She said that she decided to return as “party workers were feeling hurt” with her departure. BJP which was elated on Reddy joining the party and considered her a prized catch said that the senior leader had come to the saffron party on being impressed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work.
Soon after Reddy joined the BJP, Telangana BJP president K Laxman and BJP national general secretary V Muralidhar Rao welcomed her and Rao tweeted pictures of her induction and wrote, “Impressed by the work of PM Narendra Modi Ji, senior Congress leader Smt Padmini Reddy joined BJP today in Hyderabad (Telangana)”.
