As people of Koviloor and nearby villages have frequently complained against the Tamil Nadu Chemical Products (TCP) Limited at Koviloor for the pollution problems, Minister for Khadi and Village Industries Board G Baskaran has said the district unit of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has been asked to conduct an inspection in the ‘affected’ areas and submit report.
After a high-level meeting with Collector J. Jayakanthan, SP T. Jayachandran, officials from TNPCB, representatives from TCP and leaders from Koviloor and other villages at the Collectorate here on Saturday, the Minister said officials of the TNPCB, labour and agriculture departments have been asked to inspect the villages.
