Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani dared the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to speak out clearly on whose side it was.
“Telangana State was liberated from Nizam’s rule through the Operation Polo by the Indian government on September 17th, 1948, and that was being treated as a golden movement in the history of Telangana. The Telangana Liberation Day is not being celebrated in Telangana State as it was betrayal day for some people.

I wanted to ask the TRS on whose side it is? On the side of the people who want to celebrate it or on the side of others?” Smriti Irani asked while addressing the ‘Mahila Shankharavam’ programme held here town on Thursday. The programme organised in the mandal headquarters was attended by a large number of women.
