Govt sets up a panel on women quota

State government has constituted a cabinet sub-committee to examine the issue of urban local body elections vis-a-vis women reservation and other related issues and make recommendations. A six-member committee headed by minister for agriculture and co-operation, G Kaito Aye, as chairman has been asked to submit its report/recommendations within two months from the date of issue of this notification. Other members of the committee include minister for environment, forest & climate change (EF&CC) and parliamentary affairs, CM Chang; minister for planning & co-ordination, land revenue; minister for transport & civil aviation, land resources, P PaiwangKonyak; minister for urban development & municipal affairs, Metsubo Jamir, and principal secretary, municipal affairs as member-secretary.
