Taking cognisance of the plight of the traditional farmers of Sancoale, Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, on Monday, assured the executive committee members of Ille Bhaile Khazan Association of constructing a sluice gate at the Bandolem lake which will benefit over 200 traditional farmers in cultivating their fields. As per information from the executive committee members of IBKA, they were facing difficulties to cultivate their fields in Sancoale due to the entering of saline water into their fields. “We have requested the local MLA Saldanha to make immediate provision to construct a sluice gate which will help the traditional farmers to cultivate their fields,” said IBKA execute member.
