Pensioners contribute Rs. 2.5 cr. to CMRF to help Keralites

Responding to the call given by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to come to the aid of people of flood-hit Kerala, government pensioners on Saturday met Finance Minister and Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and represented to the government to deduct Rs. 100 from their pension for the month of August There are 2.56 lakh pensioners, including family pensioners in the State, drawing pension from the government, and their donation of Rs. 100 each would amount to Rs. 2.56 crore. The Chief Minister released Rs. 25 crore as immediate financial assistance to the flood ravaged State on Friday and appealed to people to contribute their mite to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
