Modi’s aerial survey in Kochi broke off due to heavy rain

Modi has reached Kochi from Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday morning to make an aerial survey of the place. His helicopter was called back minutes after it took off to assess the conditions of Kerala.
Kerala is struggling from the worst natural disaster of this century where over 200 people have died in landslides and floods caused due to torrential rain from past 10 days. More landslides are causing harm in Wayanad and Kannur districts. Air, rail, and road services are disrupted in most of the areas of the state from past 5 days.
Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan termed the situation as “really serious”. Vijayan said that although two lakh people have been shifted to as many as 1,568 relief camps, many are still stranded.
