By giving public sector cashew factories a modern makeover, the government aims to accelerate production and ensure maximum working days for the labourers, said Minister for Fisheries and Cashew Industry J. Mercykutty Amma here on Monday.
Inaugurating a renovated Capex cashew factory at Perumpuzha, she added an extra 1,000 labourers would be accommodated in the sector this year. “We hope to ensure at least 200 working day in the factories run by the Kerala State Cashew Workers Apex Industrial Cooperative Society (Capex) and Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation (KSCDC),” she said.
