Bharatiya Janata Party’s Uppal MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar on Sunday said that the Telangana State has turned into a ‘Police Raj’ where personal freedom and liberty has been scuttled and the democratic right to protest is crushed. He accused the police of hatching a conspiracy in putting him under house arrest and preventing him from taking out a rally in support of the external Swami Paripoornananda.
Taking to media, he claimed that the basic human rights were being violated in the State especially in the city with the police coming down hard on organisations taking up any protest programmes. He challenged the police to similarly act tough against those making hate speeches and on the ruling party leaders who already have had cases foisted against them.
