Malaysian sand to reach people in 2 months: Patil

Sand imported from Malaysia will reach consumers in about two months, Mines and Geology Minister Rajashekhar Patil said on Thursday. “Four shipments of the Malaysian sand have arrived in Mangaluru and Hyderabad. Licensing procedure is underway. People will get this sand in two months,” he told reporters.
Patil, who also holds Muzrai portfolio, said a committee will be formed to look after temples under government control. “Temples like Kukke Subrahmanya, Kollur Mookambika and Banashankari generate an income of Rs 700 crore to Rs 800 crore. The amount will be spent to develop the temples,” he said.
