Delhi talks to focus on Mani’s re-entry

The June 7 talks convened by the Congress high command will primarily focus on the kerala Congress (M) [KC(M)]’s re-entry into the United Democratic Front (UDF).
Selection of the party’s nominee for the Rajya Sabha elections and a revamp of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee will also figure in separate discussions with Ramesh Chennithala, Oommen Chandy, M.M. Hassan and others. These issues have been put on the top burner in the aftermath of the Chengannur bypoll debacle and a storm of controversy generated by young legislators.
The date for the talks, according to Congress sources, has been scheduled much before the Chengannur results were out in accordance with the availability of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is on a two week foreign visit and is expected to return home on Wednesday.
