Samiti seeks two ministerial berths

Leaders of Madiga Dandora Horata Samiti have demanded Cabinet berths for at least two Madiga community MLAs including Roopa Shashidhar, elected from the KGF Assembly constituency. Among the JD(S) and Congress MLAs, Ms. Shashidar is the only MLA from the community.
T.R. Vijay Kumar, district president of the samiti, at a press conference on Friday, said, “We want at least two from the community taken to the Cabinet. Besides Roopa Shashidhar, H. Anjaneya, who suffered a defeat this time, should be inducted into the Ministry after getting elected to the Legislative Council,” he said.
Further, he said R.B. Thimmapura, who was a Minister in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet, could also be considered. “The government should also consider leaders of the community while appointing heads for boards and corporations.
Mr. Kumar demanded the government implement the recommendations of Justice Sadashiva Commission on internal reservation. “The Congress faced the wrath of the Madiga community because of its failure to implement the commission’s report. H.D. Kumaraswamy had also promised implementation of the commission’s report during the campaign,” he said.
