Naga society blinded by materialism: Dr. Jamir

Former Odisha Governor and former Nagaland chief minister, Dr. S.C. Jamir called for cleaning politics and bring social transformation as the people and their leaders have been blinded by materialism, which has become a chronic disease in Naga society.
He said this while attending the 26th annual parting social of Nagaland University Students’ Union (NUSU), Kohima campus on the theme “The birth of a memory” as a guest speaker at RCEMPA hall, Jotsoma on Thursday.
Dr. Jamir urged the intellectuals to bring positive change to the State and society, while competing with rest of the world as they have potential and resources saying “no outsider would come and do for Nagaland”. He said though Nagaland is a small State, it should have the spirit of Israel to survive and surpass rest of the country with determination and ambition. He called upon the young people to rise and build strong Naga nation with unity for progressive and prosperous state.
