‘CM should apologise to Kannadigas’

Taking exception to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s apology to Marathis for not being able to communicate with them in their mother tongue at a party workers conference in Bedakihal in Chikkodi taluk, BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa demanded that the Chief Minister to apologise Kannadigas. He was speaking to presspersons at the helipad here on Sunday.
“Marathis are also our own people and are living with Kannadigas in harmony. Yet, being the Chief Minister of Karnataka and tendering an apology to Marathis for not knowing their language is wrong. It amounts to insulting Kannadigas. He should apologise to Kannadigas also,” he said.
Aggressively attacking Mr. Siddaramaiah who has repeatedly said that the BJP would never return to power in the State, Mr. Yeddyurappa hit back calling him as an insane person.
“Mr. Siddaramaiah ran away from Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency as he was not sure of winning there. He chose to contest from Badami which, he felt, was a safe constituency. If he had guts, he should have contested from Chamundeshwari alone and proved his strength. The BJP will defeat him in both the constituencies,” he said.
