Lowest rape cases in Tamil Nadu: NCRB

Following the Hyderabad rape case and the widespread debate in the country to award death penalty to rape convicts, the National crime Record Bureau has published a data on places where most rapes have occurred between 2015 and 2017.
NCRB report says, fewest rape cases during this period took place in Tamil Nadu. Madhya Pradesh stood for the highest number of rapes.
The worst 5 states for annual average rapes between 2015 and 2017 are – MP, UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Odisha.
Rajasthan and Odisha feature among the worst states for number of rapes, despite having considerably low population.
Instances of brutal rape and violence against the women who report it have given India the dismal reputation of being one of the worst places in the world to be female.
